As we will visit the cities of Georgia, we will also photograph the Adjara Autonomous Region and its villages, where we will take very different and beautiful photos. Adjara Autonomous Region is a region with very natural, unspoilt villages like the continuation of Artvin villages in Turkey. We will visit a town that is frozen in time. The amazing architecture we will see in this completely abandoned town will impress us all.
Then we will go to the mountains and visit the Svaneti Region. We will photograph the aesthetic defense towers of medieval stone standing next to the houses. These villages, which we reached through dirt roads, where there was not even a road during our first visit, today have an asphalt road. Unfortunately, we only have a few years left to see their final versions.
Our trip will be a 9-day excursion. It will start at Batumi airport and end at Batumi airport again.
Day 1: We will arrive at Batumi Airport from different cities by plane and meet there. Our first day program will be in Batumi. We will photograph the squares, the city center, the theater building, the coastline, and of course, we will disperse to the streets of the city center one by one and take photos freely. Our dinner and accommodation will be in Batumi.
Day 2: After breakfast, we will visit Georgian villages in Adjara Region. Life in the villages still continues in the traditional way. Some of the houses are wooden as in the Black Sea. All day we will see and photograph very pleasant villages in a green nature. It will be a day spent visiting different villages. We will disperse in the villages and take pictures as we wish. We will meet at a certain point and move on to the next village. In the evening, we will eat dinner together and our accommodation will be in Batumi.
Day 3: After breakfast, we will go to Svaneti, another very different and striking region. The most important feature of this region is that almost every house has stone defense towers from the Middle Ages. The first time we went, the area was a village completely surrounded by greenery. The roads were dirt, but now asphalt roads have been built. The village still retains its character. Maybe it’s the last few years we’ll see in this state. We will explore inside this aesthetic village for photography. Sometimes we will encounter cows returning from the pasture, sometimes a horseman will suddenly appear in front of us from a street. This village, established among the mountains that surround you, will give you different photos throughout the day. Dinner and accommodation will be in this village. Our way from Batumi will take about 5 hours. However, our way may take longer as we will stop for photos on the way.
Day 4: After breakfast, we will go to another village in the Svaneti Region, which is much more untouched than the one we are in. On the way to this village, we will drive with 4×4 jeeps. We will take lots of photo breaks on the village road. Because the road views are quite enjoyable. We will see a mountain landscape or a farmer returning from the field. Part of the village road is still dirt. In this village, too, we will see a tall stone defense tower next to each house and stunning mountain views. Recently, when the tourists started to come, the villagers living here opened small eating places in the gardens of their houses. You can also enjoy the view and take panoramic mountain photos from your seat. In the evening, we will return to the other village before dark, dinner and accommodation will be here. Today our road will take 2 hours.
5 days:Today we will drive to Kutaisi. But before that, there is a ghost town we will stop by on the way. We will go to an area where we will take very different pictures, almost completely abandoned and very impressive buildings. This is an old spa resort town. During the Soviet Union, very magnificent buildings were built here for pleasant holidays, but then the area was abandoned and the buildings were left to their own devices. In this lonely town, we will go inside the magnificent buildings and take pictures. We will reach Kutaisi at midday. Kutaisi is a region with very pleasant places for photography. Streets and houses seem frozen in time. Each one more aesthetic than the other. Here we will visit a monastery. The monastery is still active, there are a lot of chaplains and the setting is beautiful for photography. However, we may find it difficult to take pictures here. Still, there will be very nice squares. Accommodation and dinner will be here. Our way will be about 5 hours today.
Day 6: After breakfast, if there is an area in Kutaisi that we could not photograph yesterday, we will go there and photograph it. We will set off for Tbilisi towards noon. It is still a very pleasant area for photography. It is a region inhabited by Georgians on one side and Azeri Turks on the other. There is still a working bath, some of the old wooden houses are preserved. In this city built by the Kura river, the bridge will give us aesthetic photographs. We will all have dinner together. Our accommodation will be in Tbilisi. Our way today will be about 4 hours.
Day 7: After breakfast, we will spend the whole day in Tbilisi. There are many churches and synagogues that we will photograph in the city. The staff working in each one poses for us while taking pictures. Maybe Tbilisi is one of the few places in the world where we can attract religious officials so easily. After taking pictures freely in different parts of the city all day, we will have dinner together. Our accommodation will be in Tbilisi.
Day 8: After breakfast, we will drive to a very interesting village. The people living in this village were exiled because they refused to do their military service in Tsarist Russia and did not go to church, and they are trying to stay together in this village. In other words, the continuation of the Malakan people who came to Kars are here in Georgia. They are still trying to live in peace as they believe. They have no churches, their places of worship are different from the church. Those living in the village, generally the elderly population, still continue to wear their traditional clothes. Their places of worship and cemeteries are quite interesting. We will photograph this village for a few hours and head towards Borjomi, where we will stay. Dinner will be at our hotel. Our way to the village today will be 4 hours.
Day 9: After breakfast, we will leave to go Batumi Airport. Be sure to see a Georgia beyond your expectation. Because even though we have been many times, it still impresses us every time we go. We will leave behind a country where you can take lots of photos, love the food and a pleasant photo trip, and say goodbye at the airport until the next time.
